Step 2: Research Competition

This is a very important part of starting a business.  You need to be sure that you can be competitive in the marketplace and still make a profit.  You can’t be the highest price in the market and expect folks to come crashing your door down if there’s not a benefit to them paying the higher price.

Lowering your price to undercut the competition is the easiest, but in doing so, are you going to be able to survive?  Simply put, you can’t resell items for less that you’re buying them for.  You’ll lose money in the end.

Offering lowest prices for services may work to get your business jump started, but at some point, you have to put a price on your time, and what your time is worth.

There’s lots to this – Competitive Analysis.  Do your research and come up with novel ideas to set your business apart from the rest.
